Audition Guidelines for the 2023-24 Ozark Festival Orchestra’s
Young Artist Aria/Concerto Competition
Audition Date: December 9, 2023
Place: Monett High School Performing Arts Center
Time: 9 AM Arrive by 8:45 to be ready to perform. The order will be determined by drawing a number.
If you have a special consideration for audition time, let us know. The building will be open at 8, if you want to warm up. There is ten minutes allowed for each audition. If your piece is longer than that, you may be asked to stop after the judges have heard at least 2/3 of the music.
If there is a cadenza at the end of the piece, that will be taken into consideration and we will hear it!
Audience: Auditions are open and we encourage you to bring anyone who would like to come. One stipulation: Both contestants and the audience are asked to stay for the duration of the auditions-approximately 3 hours.
After everyone has performed, the judges will withdraw to make their decisions. This is a good time to take photos.
When the judges return, the announcement of winner(s) will be made. Silver medals will be awarded to all contestants.
Winners will also receive a gold medal and be photographed for publicity.
